St. Paisii Hilendarski’ monument was founded in 1976 by sculptor Stoyu Todorov and is located in the center of Bansko. The composition’s architect is Konstantin Antonov. It was officially opened in 1977. The monument presents the author of “Slavonic-Bulgarian Story” standing in full stature against the backdrop of several large pages of his famous book. The figure is carved from a rare black granite from Rhodopes mountain. Distressed marble pages are from Ilindentsi's quarry.
